63 Holds More Vehicle Rescue Training, This Time With 9 And 28
On August 17, 2009, Station 63 along with Station 9 (Factoryville) and Station 28 (Justus) made their way to Cucurra's Junkyard for some vehicle rescue training. Crews concentrated on the use of hydraulic tools, but also made time for basic hand tools. The roof and doors were removed from one car, and two methods of dash rolls were preformed using the hydraulic tools. Crews were able to attack the doors from both the lock and hinge side with the spreaders and "O" cutters. The dash was rolled with rams as well as the spreaders. Crews were also able to remove the roof from a second car with only hand tools. The training was beneficial for all the crews, and more training is in the works for the future on various topics.
