63 Dispatched to Working Trailer Fire with Entrapment
Just after 17:00 hours on
May 9,
2009, 63’s 1st alarm assignment was dispatched for a working
trailer fire with entrapment at a residence in the Benton Hills Mobile Home
Park. Chief 63A (Walton) arrived on scene reporting all occupants out
of the trailer, and a small fire on the exterior with possible extension.
The fire was knocked down with a dry chemical extinguisher. Engine 63
and Tanker 63 responded into the scene to check for extension, while Station
9 (Factoryville) and Station 36 (Scott Twp.) were requested to standby.
No extension was found and all units were returned to service after a short
time.

Empties House for Memorial Day Structure Fire
At
approximately 9:40 AM on Monday
May 26, 2008 firefighter A. Otto
discovered smoke showing from the roof of CJ’s Deli on Route 407 in Fleetville. Chief 63-A (Walton) requested Wyoming County dispatch the
full first alarm assignment for a working structure fire at the Deli,
and immediately special called a full response from Dalton with their
ladder being the priority.
Chief 63 (Saxton) marked on the scene assuming command. Chief 63-A
had interior group while crews from station 63 and station 36 (Scott) made
an aggressive interior attack with lines operating on Divisions 1 and 2
of the apartment. The fire was contained to Division 2, the attic, and
the crawl space.
Crews from
Engine 9 (Factoryville) were assigned to the A/D side of the structure
to check for extension. Ladder 5 (Dalton) preformed truck company
operations and ventilation. Engine and Tanker 5 were assigned water
supply laying approximately 1200’ of 5” to the pond at Fleetville
Station. Crews from Scott assisted in overhaul on Division 1 and 2 and
also assisted Dalton with water supply.
Crews
operated on scene for approximately 2 hours. Great work by all
resulted in a quick knock down and minimal damage to the deli and the
first floor of the apartment.

Engine
and Squad Run Afternoon Rollover
At approx.
1330hrs. on
May 18, 2008, Engine and Squad 63 were dispatched to a single vehicle
rollover on Rt. 438 just west of Hack Rd. Chief 63 (Saxton) arrived on
scene establishing the Wallsville Rd. command reporting one patient
refusal. Squad 63 arrived on scene and obtained the refusal, while Engine
63 controlled traffic and some light fluids down on the roadway. Units
operated on scene for approx. 30 minutes before returning to service.

Engine and Tanker Assist
Scott on Working Structure Fire
At
approx. 0300hrs on
May 17, 2008, Engine and Tanker 63 were dispatched
to assist Station 36 (Scott) on a working structure fire in the
area of Steins Grove. Engine 63 was assigned to assist
with suppression, while Tanker 63 was assigned to staging.
Crews from station 36 arrived to find the front of the house
well off. Tanker 63 operated on scene for approx. 2 hrs
before being returned, while Engine 63 operated for approx. 3
hrs.

Responds to Car vs. House at Bassett Lake
At
approx. 17:15 on May 14,
2008, Engine and Squad 63 along with Factoryville Rescue
and Ambulance were dispatched for a car into a house with unknown injuries
on Maple Drive at Bassett Lake. Chief 63 (Saxton) marked on scene and
established command.
All
occupants were out of the vehicle and there were no injuries. Factoryville
Ambulance and Rescue were canceled. Upon investigation moderate damage was
found to the front porch of the structure.
PSP
arrived on scene to investigate and all units were cleared and returned to
service.

Engine and Tanker
63 assist Clifford on 2 alarm structure fire
At approx.
0230hrs. on May 14,
2008, Wyoming County dispatched Engine and Tanker 63 to
assist Clifford on a second alarm fully involved structure fire on
Main St. in Clifford. Engine 63 responded with a crew of three and
tanker 63 responded with a crew of 2. Additional personnel also
responded to the scene.
The crew from Engine 63 was assigned to assist with fire suppression,
and Tanker 63 was held in staging for a possible tanker shuttle.
Crews
from Station 63 operated for approx. 4 hours.
