Today, the Fleetville Volunteer Fire Company has a total of 45 members, 15 of whom are firefighters and 6 are certified Emergency Medical Technicians. Located in northeast Pennsylvania, 18 miles north of the city of Scranton and 4 miles west of Interstate 81, these trained men and women protect 25 square miles of Benton Township, which consists of just over 1800 residents and their homes. In addition to responding to structure fires, we also respond to automatic fire alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, brush/grass fires and many other types of emergencies. We also respond to motor vehicle accidents on the 33 miles of township roads and 30 miles of state highways/roads. EMS Services are also provided by our company in the event of a medical or trauma emergency, along with neighboring ambulance providers. Our company has a total of 4 pieces of frontline apparatus, and one back up piece of apparatus if needed. The Fleetville Volunteer Fire Company is always looking for new members who are interested in fire or EMS services. We are a 100% volunteer department, so without our members we would be unable to provide these services. For more info on how to become a member please read the section below.
