with Confinement
At
approximately 16:00 hours on
February 18, 2009, Squad 63 and Engine 63 along with
Rescue 9 and Ambulance 9 (Factoryville) were dispatched for a two car MVA on
Route 107 just east of Fleetville Corners. Initial reports were of one
victim complaining of hip pain with possible confinement. Chief 63 (T.Saxton)
arrived on scene and established the 107 command, reporting 2 cars involved,
one patient walking around and the second confined to the vehicle. Access
was made through the passenger side of the vehicle and the patient was
turned over to EMS for evaluation. Command then canceled Rescue 9, since
their services were no longer needed. Both victims refused transport and
signed refusals. Units operated on scene for traffic control for
approximately 1 hour.

Another 18 Box
At
approx. 2:30 hours on
February 4, 2009, Tanker 63 was dispatched to
assist Station 18 (Clifford) on the 2nd alarm assignment for the
working structure fire on Rt. 106 in Royal. Tanker 63 responded with a crew
of 2. Then, due to another Engine Co. on the 2nd alarm not
crewing, Engine 63 was bumped up from the 3rd alarm and at
approx. 2:45 hours, responded with a crew of 3. Tanker 63 remained in the
tanker shuttle, while the Engine crew was requested to report to staging.
Due to the cold conditions crews were rotated and the Engine crew assisted
in overhaul. Tanker 63 was released by command at approx. 5:00 hours and
the Engine was released at approx. 5:30 hours. Special thanks to Station 9
(Factoryville) for standing by at their station while multiple companies
from the 1st due operated on the structure fire.
