Completes Rural Water Movement Course
On Oct. 12th,
members from Station 63 along with other companies from the area
completed this 16 hour course sponsored by the PA State Fire Academy
and Bucks County Community College and held at the Factoryville Fire
Co. with the exception being the tanker shuttle which was held in
Fleetville due to the proximity to the Lackawanna State Park. Crews
spent the morning doing dump and fill tests on all of the tankers and
then the afternoon performing the actual tanker shuttle itself. Over
a period of 2 hours crews managed to flow an average of just over
1,000 gallons of water per minute. Crews shuttled from a fill site at
the Lackawanna State Park to Station 63, which is exactly a two mile
run. Engine 9 (Factoryville) set up the fill site at the lake while
Engine 63 set up the fill outside of the fire station and supplied
water to Engine 4 (Clarks Summit). Overall the course went very well
and everyone involved learned something new.
Apparatus on-hand: E-63, T-63,
E-9, T-9, S-9, E-4, T-2, T-60, HBT-3, 52T-2

Fleetville hosts rural water movement drill
On Monday night, June 23rd
the Fleetville Fire Co. held a rural water supply drill at the
station. Fleetville Engine 63 along with Dalton Engine 5 set up 2
portable ponds in the parking lot of the station, using Engine 5 to
run the jet siphons while Engine 63 drafted out of the main portable
pond to supply the ladder pipe of Clifford Ladder 18. Factoryville
Engine 9 set up a fill site at the Lackawanna State park with their
Engine and portable pumps. After everything was in place the tankers
emptied into the portable ponds and began the tanker shuttle. Crews
managed to move and flow thousands of gallons of water during the
exercise. The Fleetville Fire Co. would like to thank all of the
surrounding companies that participated.
Apparatus involved: Engine 63 and Tanker 63 (Fleetville), Engine 9 and
Tanker 9 (Factoryville), Engine 5 and Tanker 5 (Dalton), Ladder 18
(Clifford), Tanker 24 (Greenfield), Tanker 60 (Meredith), and Hop
